Getting it right

Type your wording, choose a font, colour and size, and we'll cut it from vinyl and send it weeded and taped, ready to apply. Four quick checks and your lettering will come out just the way you pictured it. Not sure about something? Ask us and we'll gladly help.

Check every letter

We cut exactly what's shown in the preview, so check spelling, spacing, capitals and phone numbers carefully. Press Enter in the text box to start a new line.

Measure your space first

Measure where the lettering is going, then set the size by letter height or overall width. The finished size is shown in step 4, so check it fits with some room to spare.

Inside or outside the glass?

For walls, vehicles, boats and the outside of glass, choose Outside surface. Lettering stuck on the inside of a window is protected from the weather, so choose Inside of glass and we'll cut it reversed so it reads the right way from outside.

Pick a colour that stands out

Choose a colour with plenty of contrast against the surface: dark lettering on light walls and paint, and white or bright colours on dark paint and tinted glass. Screen colours are a guide only.

How big should my letters be?

Use this as a starting point, then check the finished size fits your space. The further away people will read it from, the bigger the letters should be.

How to apply your lettering

Your lettering arrives weeded (the extra vinyl removed) with clear transfer tape over the top, which holds every letter in place while you put it on.

1. Prepare Clean & dry

  • Clean the surface with warm soapy water, then dry it completely.
  • Apply on a mild day, out of direct sun.

2. Position Measure twice

  • Hold it in place with a strip of masking tape along the top, like a hinge.
  • Step back and check it's straight and level.

3. Apply Go slowly

  • Lift it up, peel off the backing paper, then smooth it down from the centre outwards with a card.
  • Rub firmly, then peel the transfer tape back slowly, folding it back flat against itself.

Common questions

Can't see your question? Call us on 08 8688 2115 or send us a message.

How do I order my lettering?
  1. Type your wording in step 1. Press Enter to start a new line.
  2. Choose a font in step 2.
  3. Choose your colour, set the size by letter height or overall width, and choose how many copies in step 3.
  4. Choose whether it's going on an outside surface or the inside of glass.
  5. Check the preview and finished size in step 4, tick the box to confirm, then add it to your cart.
What's the difference between letter height and overall width?

Letter height is the height of a capital letter. Overall width is the full width of your longest line. Set whichever one matters most for your space and we'll work out the other. The finished size of all your lettering is shown in step 4.

What size should I choose?

As a guide: window opening hours 25–40 mm, car doors and utes 50–100 mm, boat names 100–200 mm and shop names 100–250 mm letter height. Measure your space first and check the finished size in step 4 fits with some room to spare. The further away people will read it from, the bigger the letters should be.

Should I choose outside surface or inside of glass?

Choose Outside surface for walls, vehicles, boats and the outside of windows. Choose Inside of glass if you're sticking it on the inside of a window to be read from outside. We'll cut it reversed so it reads the right way, and it's protected from the weather.

Can I get a colour that isn't listed?

Yes. Screen colours are a guide only, and we can get other colours in. Ask us for a quote and tell us the colour you're after.

Can I use my own logo or design?

Yes. This page is for wording only, so for logos and designs, use our Custom Vinyl Decals page and upload your file there.

What does weeded and taped mean?

Weeded means we've removed all the extra vinyl around and inside your letters. Taped means there's a clear transfer tape over the top that holds every letter in its place, so you can put the whole lot on in one go.

How do I put my lettering on?
  1. Clean the surface with warm soapy water and dry it completely. Apply on a mild day, out of direct sun.
  2. Position the lettering and hold it in place with a strip of masking tape along the top, like a hinge. Check it's straight and level.
  3. Lift it up, peel off the backing paper, then smooth it down from the centre outwards with a card.
  4. Rub firmly over every letter, then peel the transfer tape back slowly, folding it back flat against itself. If a letter lifts, press the tape back down and rub again.
Will you check my spelling?

We cut exactly what's shown in the preview, so please check spelling, spacing, capitals and numbers carefully before you add it to your cart. Not sure about something? Contact us before you order.

Can I order more than one copy?

Yes. Choose how many copies in step 3 and your total is shown in step 4. Need lots of copies, or something bigger? Ask us for a quote.

How will my lettering get to me?

All orders are cut and sent from our shop in Tumby Bay with Australia Post, Australia wide. Orders placed on weekends and public holidays are processed on the next working day. We don't offer weekend or next-day delivery.

What if something's wrong with my order?

If your lettering arrives damaged, we made a mistake, or you received the wrong item, we'll recut, replace or refund it. We can't offer refunds for a change of mind, spelling or wording mistakes in what you typed, or sizes and options chosen incorrectly at checkout. Please contact us and we'll sort it out.
